Catherine M. "Katy" Bicknell, age 100, of Richmond, died Saturday morning (August 28, 2010) at Forest Park Health Campus. She was born in Richmond on August 9, 1910 to Clifford and Edna Smith Haworth and had lived here all of her life. She was a 1928 graduate of Morton High School of which she was the oldest living graduate until here death. Katy attended Earlham College and Richmond Business College and had worked at Richmond Brothers, Wayne Dairy and Montgomery Ward where she retired after 33 years of employment. She had also worked for American Legion Post 65. She was a member of First Christian Church, Richmond High School Alumni Association, and a 78 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She had served as president of Girls Inc.. Survivors include two nieces - Nancy Trout of Michigan City, IN, Sally Minor of Bristol, Ct.; step-daughter - Marilyn Fulton of Nashville, In; several great nieces and great nephews. Her husband, James Bicknell, and three sisters - Ruth Ingram, Louise Taylor and Martha Hachett and her first husband, Morris Miller, are also deceased. Beta Sigma Phi Memorial Services will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Tuesday (August 31, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary immediately followed by services with Rev. Amanda Hines officiating. Burial will be later in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday (August 31, 2010) from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
