Cecil C. Holliday, age 87, passed away on Tuesday (June 3rd, 2014) at Rosebud Village. He was born on December 2nd, 1926 to William Clarence and Alice Louise Holliday in Abington, Indiana and had lived here all his life. Cecil retired from the State Hospital, and thoroughly enjoyed being around his family. He loved playing music, particularly the guitar and piano. In his younger days, ho enjoyed mushroom hunting and enjoyed doing puzzles and being around animals. Cecil was also a US Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gloria Holliday; Sons Rockford (Lisa) Holliday, William Jeff (Diane) Holliday, Rick Holliday (Lisa), Robert Holliday (Rita), James Holliday, Thomas (Linda) Holliday, and Milton Seifer; Daughters Debra L. Slinker, Jeannette (Bob) Swoveland, Barbara (Bob Braun) Basford, and Diane ( )______; Sisters Janet McBride and Rita Carlin; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, 8 sisters and 3 brothers preceded him in death. Services for Cecil will be held on Monday (June 9th, 2014) at 1 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Jim Spon will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial gardens. Friends may call on Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Cecil Holliday fund in care of the funeral home.
