Charles Hammer, age 70, of Richmond, died Wednesday (April 29, 2009) at his residence. He was born in Connersville on July 23, 1938 to Alvin and Lena Carroway Hammer. He had owned and operated Hammer's Garage. Survivors include his son - Michael (Kim) Hammer of Richmond; daughter - Brenda (Brenda) Hammer of Richmond; son - William Kenneth (Claire) Hammer of Texas; his former wife, caregiver and mother of Michael and Brenda - Dorothy Gatts of Richmond; sisters - Shirley (Bobby) Gruell of Connersville, Hazel (Ray) Oliver of Indianapolis; brother - Leslie Hammer of Indianapolis; grandchildren - Brandi Hammer of Richmond, Amara Hammer of Texas, Wyatt Hammer of Texas, Haley Jo Hammer of Bicknell, Indiana; great granddaughter - Hunter Hammer of Richmond; nieces and nephews. His second wife, Judith Hammer, and half brother, Bobby Dale Meek are also deceased. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday (May 2, 2009) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev.
