Charles William Stoddard, age 81, of Richmond, died Tuesday evening, (August 2, 2011) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 4, 1930 to Charles R. and Lucille Miller Stoddard and ha lived here most of his life. He had worked in sales for the former Divco-Wayne Corp and for Allstate Insurance. He was a member of Saint John Catholic Church (New Paris) and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nancy Stoddard; sons - Charles (Kathleen) Stoddard of Louisiana, Nick (Karen) Stoddard of Clarksville, Indiana, Mark (Patricia) Stoddard of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Tom (Robin) Stoddard of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Paul (Teresa) Stoddard of Lynn, Indiana; sister - Catherine Turner of Rapid City, Michigan; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a sister, Patricia Ann Blume, is also deceased. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (August 6, 2011) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Father Tom Fitzsimmons will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery.
