It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Waltermann, aged 84, who left this world on April 14, 2025. Born to Joseph Waltermann and Amelia Deuser Waltermann on November 17, 1940 in Richmond, Indiana, Charles graduated from Richmond High School and earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton, Ohio. Born and raised in Richmond, Indiana, Charles was a man of deep faith, an enthusiastic history buff, and a cherished member of the Catholic community. Charles found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in his love for walking. He previously worked at Miller Brothers Hardware, Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, Elder-Beerman and St. Mary's Church. His gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister Gertrude Waltermann Cloud; nieces and nephews Anne (Marc) Murphy, Joe (Julie) Waltermann, Marc (Hannah) Waltermann, Darryl R. (Carole) Norris, Terrance (Sylvia) Norris and Robert (Dabborah) Norris Jr.; and 16 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amelia Waltermann and brother Frank Waltermann.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday April 25, 2025. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary on Friday April 25, 2025 from 11:00am-12:00pm.
