Charles E. Wessel, age 91, of Richmond, died Friday morning (September 28, 2007) at Reid Hospital.� He was born in Richmond on April 12, 1916 to Charles A. and Margaret Seery Wessel and had lived here all of his life.� He was a US Army veteran of World War II and was a retired 30 year employee of Johns-Manville.� Charlie enjoyed walking and was a member of Saint Andrew Church.� His wife, Mary Wessel, died in 1974.�

Survivors include his brother Fred Wessel of Connersville; nieces and nephews.

A sister, Virginia Young, and 4 brothers, Mark, Paul, Harold and Gilbert Wessel, are also deceased.�

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday (October 2, 2007) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Andrew Church.� Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery.� Friends may call on Monday (October 1, 2007) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.� Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Andrew Church or to Seton High School, both in care of 240 South 6th Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374
