Sergeant Cody Hampton, age 26, passed away on Friday (December 26, 2014) at his home. He was born on July 29, 1988 to Randy and Angela Hampton and had lived here most of his life. Cody joined the Air Force after high school. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing video games, and loved dirt track racing. Survivors include his wife Miranda Hampton; daughters Bailey Hampton & Katelyn Hampton; parents Randy & Angela Hampton; Sister Cary Hampton; grandparents Willis & Josephine Hampton of Whitesburg, Kentucky; and nephew Boston Philpot. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Carol McGeehan and mother in law Holly Burwick. Services for Cody will be held on Wednesday (December 31, 2014) at 1 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Ron Karkosky will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
