Curtis L. Pittinger, Jr., 78 of Inman, SC, passed away February 19, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC. Born June 23, 1946, in Newport News, VA, he was the son of the late Curtis L. Pittinger, Sr. and Frances Wroten Pittinger and was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Anne Cassiday Pittinger for 53 years. He was a devoted member of Centerville Christian Church for 35 years before moving to South Carolina where he was a member of Cooley Springs Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Warwick High School in Newport News, VA and Milligan College in Johnson City, TN where he met Ruth Anne. Curt loved attending Southern Gospel Concerts, and spending time with his family who will miss him so much.
Left to cherish his memory are one son, Tim (Stephanie) Pittinger of Chesnee, SC; one daughter Tina (Wendy) Stafford of Yorktown, IN; and five grandchildren: Mariah, Dylan, Ray, Keith, and Carsyn. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Pittinger.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Cooley Springs Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm at the church with Rev. Dave Deland officiating. The family will receive friends in Richmond, IN at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:00am in the Center Christian Church Cemetery, Knightstown, IN with Pastor Benjamin Cassiday officiating.
