Dale Brown, age 97 of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday (May 14, 2018) at Reid Hospital. Dale was born on July 23, 1920 in Arcanum, Ohio to John and Ethel Minnick Brown. He was a member of the U.S. Army and Served in World War II. After the Army he worked at Starr Gennett, then worked for Swayne Robinson for over 20 years. Dale was a farmer for all of his life and also was the owner operator of Browns Greenhouse. Dale went back to work in his later years at Heritage Regency where he worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his beloved pets Sissy and Tom Cat.
Survivors include sister Helen Wogoman; granddaughter Elizabeth Palmer (whom Dale and Elizabeth raised) many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; special nephew Donald Steele; niece Barbara Westbrook; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by wife Elizabeth Brown; children Carl (Edith) Brown, Guy (Norma) Brown, William (Barbara) Brown, Anna (Dick) Wiesehan and Mary McComis; companion Sandra Bowers; siblings Vera Brunk, Verlin Brown, Evelyn Steele, Mary Sowers, Edna Sowers, Viola Bowling, Albert Brown, Virginia Reid and Charles Brown; grandchildren Richard D. Wiesehan, Dale C. Brown (whom Dale and Elizabeth raised), Deborah Austin and Anna M. Parker.
Service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday (May 18, 2018) at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will immediately follow at Goshen Cemetery. Pastor Chris Monaghan will officiate. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday (May 18, 2018) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Dale's name to Gateway Church (3361 State Rd 227 N Richmond, IN 47374).
