Daniel E. Byrd, age 82, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (January 13, 2009) at Pinehurst Village. He was born in Wayne County, Indiana on March 14,1926 to Edward Lee and Mary Ethel Charles Byrd and had lived here all of his life. He had owned and operated Dan's Water Conditioning and had been an active member of the Optimist Club and the Richmond Senior Center. Survivors include his wife - Virginia Byrd; son - Ed Byrd of Albany, Indiana; daughter Cheryl Murphy of Pennville, Indiana; brothers - Howard Byrd of Indianapolis, James Byrd of Ozark, Alabama; sister - Wanda King of Richmond; 3 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday (January 18, 2009)in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Russell Fraley will officiate. Burial will be in College Corner Cemetery.
