Daniel F. Powell Jr., passed away peacefully on Thursday May 11, 2023 at the age of 91. He was a resident of the Leland Legacy Senior Community in Richmond and loved everyone. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 24, 1931 to Daniel and Maggie (Day) Powell. Daniel is a United States Army Veteran having served in Korea. He was married to Betty Jean Crouch in December 1956 and had been married 50 years before her passing in 2007. Daniel made his career as a carpenter, building houses for Richmond Homes and Kemper; he enjoyed working with his hands, being outdoors and gardening. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his children William R. Powell of Indianapolis, IN and Sherry (Tim) Sluka of Richmond, IN; grandchildren Amanda Sluka of Richmond, IN and Christopher Powell of Indianapolis, IN; great grandson William Powell of Indianapolis, IN; special nephew Richard Robinson, Richmond, IN; special niece Janice Malicoat Ward, Berea, Kentucky; along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean along with several siblings.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary handled arrangements.
