David Alan Brim, 53, passed away July 9, 2017. He has found the peace in death that he could not find in life. Born April 20, 1964 to Samuel and Helen Brim, he lived his entire life in and around Richmond.

David was baptized and confirmed at St Andrew Catholic Church when he was a child where he served as an altar boy. He was also a member of St. John's Catholic Club where he spent many hours playing pool.

During his life, he worked at Joe Brim's Garage, Lukens Drugs, IVY Tech, and various other places around Richmond. An avid reader, his favorite books were westerns, especially Zane Grey. He loved Blues music, the Cowboys, and his dog, Sadie. He enjoyed raising rose bushes.

Those who knew David knew that he spent his life fighting addictions; it was a fight that he lost when his body could no longer carry him. The fight is over; his soul is at rest. He is now in God's arms and knows no pain, no sorrow, and no struggle.

David was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Vernon Clay Brim and Robert (Bobby) Brim, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his son, Christopher Tackett, his brother Duane (Mickie) Brim; his life partner Cyndi Cooper; close friends, Joe McIntosh, Donna Allen and Zina Allen; 4 nephews, and numerous cousins.

Services for David Alan Brim will be held on Saturday (July 15th 2017) at 12 p.m. in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
