Douglas Eugene Story, 62, of Richmond IN
Passed away Feb 19th, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio peacefully and surrounded by those that loved him.
Doug was born to Warren L. Story and Betty Story on March 8, 1961
Doug lived in Richmond the majority of his life; he started working as a machinist with Ford in Connersville in the early 80's. He was offered an electrical apprenticeship shortly after. He worked for many years as what was later known as Visteon until the company shut down in December 2007.
Doug had a strong work ethic and loved working as a maintenance electrician. After the plant closed, Doug was never the same. He found comfort in his 3 sons and 3 dogs whom he loved very much.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his sons, William Story (Haley Rastbichler), Matthew Story, and Daniel Story, and their mother, his best friend, Pam Kidder all of Richmond, his sisters, Belinda Yoke of Richmond, and Diane Terry of Zionsville, his Aunt Shirley Gadd, many nieces and nephews, cousins and his precious dogs, Maggie, Molly, and Sprinkles.
He's going home to his parents, brother in-law Manley Yoke, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family is hosting a calling on Saturday, March 9th from 4-6pm. This will include a celebration of life service at 5:30pm at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary in Richmond.
