Earl N. Daggy, Jr., age 84, of Richmond, died unexpectedly Sunday morning (November 14, 2004) at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis on September 15, 1920 to Earl N. and Mae Kerr Daggy and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a 1939 graduate of Morton High School and he was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Earl was an Eagle Scout and had served as a Commissioner for the Boy Scouts. He and his father had owned and operated Daggy Hardware Store in Centerville and he was an aeronautical engineer and had served as the chief engineer for the Controls Division of Perfect Circle. He had also worked as a project engineer for New Castle Products in New Castle, Indiana and had owned and operated Hilling Moving and Storage where he also served as presidcnt of the Indiana Movers Association. Earl had served as a vice president of the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce and he was a faithful member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where he held numerous offices and leadership positions. He was US Army veteran of World War II having served with the Combat Engineers in the South Pacific and he also served in Alaska during the Korean War. He was a member of the Prop Busters Radio Control Club, the Old Trails Rifle and Pistol Club, the National Rifle Association, the Golden K Kiwanis Club and was a former member of the Richmond Rotary Club and Past President of the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross

Jeff (wife Cheryl) Daggy of Richmond
Sister - Betty Lantz of Toledo, Ohio

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday (November 19, 2004) in First Christian Church, 100 S. 10th Street. Revs. Jim & Dixie Miller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday (November 19, 2004) at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
