Obituary

Earl E. Stolle, age 90, of Richmond, died Wednesday (March 21, 2012). He was born in Richmond on March 21, 1922 to Joseph F. and Mary Reckers Stolle and had lived here all of his life. He was a 1940 graduate of Richmond High School and was a retired 44 ½ year employee of Belden. Earl was an Army-Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a sports enthusiast playing baseball in high school and also playing on the 1939 State Champion American Legion team. He was a member of the starting 5 for the first basketball game played in the former Civic Hall. Earl was an avid IU basketball and Cincinnati Reds fan. He was a member of the Belden 25 Year Club and of American Legion Post 65 and was a life-long member of Saint Andrew Church. Survivors include his wife of 64 years - Anna Stolle; son - Ron (Carol) Stolle of Richmond; grandchildren - Christopher Stolle and Sarah Stolle; great granddaughter - Isabella Roll; nieces, nephews and cousins. His son, Thomas Stolle, died in March 2010. In addition to his parents, two sisters - Rose Ann Brittenham and Rhea Stolle, brother - James Stolle, half-brother - Joseph Stolle and half-sister - Elizabeth Horton are also deceased. A short prayer service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (March 24, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Andrew Church. Father Todd Riebe will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (March 23, 2012) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
