Earl T. "Tom" Goins, age 72, formerly of Richmond, passed away at 2:30 pm on Monday (April 14, 2008) at Anderson Community Hospital in Anderson, Indiana after a short battle with cancer.� He was born January 26, 1936 in Garrard County, Kentucky and was the son of the late William and Flora McKinney Goins.� He served four years as a US Combat Engineer during the German Occupation from 1954-1958 and had lived in Anderson for the past 27 years.� He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters UA Local 661.�
Tom will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley;� daughter - Jana (Ray) Melendez of Fort Wayne; son - Aaron T. Goins of Richmond; two step-sons - Larry Vincent, Terry (Staci) Vincent of Bloomington; step-daughter - Kelley (Frank) Huff of New Castle;� six grandchildren - Benjamin and Zachary Melendez, Tyler, Clayton and Danyelle Huff, Forest Vincent;� two brothers - Dan Goins of Richmond and Rick Goins of Florida;� two sisters - Pamela (Malcolm) Merkamp and Margret Ann Eastep both of Centerville. He will also be missed by a very special cousin - Roy McKinney.�
Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday (April 21, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary in Richmond.� Rev. Paul Riddle will officiate.� Burial will be in the Earlham Cemetery Veterans Field of Honor where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Honor Guard.� Friends may call on Sunday (April 20, 2008) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
