Edna M. (Holloway) Schwegman, age 91, passed away Tuesday, April 28th in Columbus, Ohio. She had been a long-time resident of Richmond and was with her daughter at the time of her passing. Edna was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Her husband, Robert (Bob) Schwegman pre-deceased her in 1999. She lived her life with a strong Christian faith and had been a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Edna grew up in Elkin, NC and relocated to Richmond where she met Bob while working at the Avco manufacturing plant. Edna and Bob were married for nearly 49 years and were adoring, loving parents of two daughters, Carol and Debra (Debbie) who both survive Edna. She lived her life with humbleness, kindness, integrity, and a deep dedication to her faith and God. Edna was highly revered and adored by family, friends, and anyone she met. She was forever patient, slow to anger, a consummate peacemaker, always willing to help others, and selflessly provided love and support to anyone who needed her. She is also deeply cherished by her grandchildren Michael, Kevin and Gina Newberry. Edna had been pre-deceased by two sisters and four brothers, and she will forever be remembered and greatly missed by several nieces and nephews in North Carolina.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday (May 5, 2020) at Earlham Cemetery.
