Erpha L. Baumer, age 87, of Centerville, died Friday morning (August 3, 2012) at her residence. She was born in Wayne County, Indiana on May 15, 1925 to Robert and Eva Wissler Merkamp and had lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Centerville High School and she was a homemaker. Erpha was a member of Holy Family Church, Centerville Senior Center, the YMI and had belonged to the former Abington Homemakers Club. She was a great cook and enjoyed playing euchre. Her husband, Clement A. "Clem" Baumer, died on May 20, 2007. Survivors include her sons - Mike (Kathie) Baumer of Centerville, James (Sally) Baumer of Centerville, Dennis (Jennifer) Baumer of Richmond; daughters - Linda (Jerry) Rowe of Greens Fork, Patricia Watko of Carmel, Indiana, Cathy (Glen) Alexander of Richmond and Lisa Davidson of Centerville; brothers - Richard (Nancy) Merkamp of Richmond; sister - Ruth (Bob) Nocton of Williamsburg; 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Thomas R. Baumer, granddaughter Michelle Alexander and brother Kenneth Merkamp, are also deceased. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday (August 7, 2012) in Holy Family Church (815 West Main Street). Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (August 6, 2012) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
