Eugene Kirkman, age 92, of Arba died Thursday (March 15, 2018) at Golden LivingCenter. He was born in New Paris, Ohio to Roy and Stella Hoover Kirkman on November 6, 1925. Eugene graduated from Whitewater High School, he then served in the US Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged. He retired from the US Postal service in 1987. He and his wife Betty were members of Bethel Christian church for many years.
Survivors include daughters Cindy (Roy) Smith and Joyce Spaeth; grandchildren Angela (Rich) Hannah and Bobby (Stephanie) Engelbert; 4 great grandchildren; nieces Patty Williams and Debbie (Ron) Melling; special friends Becky Stewart, Josh Sims; and K-9 friends scooter, Georgie, and Dewey. He is preceded in death by wife Betty Kirkman (2006) and son in-law Dennis Spaeth.

Services for Eugene will be held on Tuesday (March 20, 2018) at 1:30 P.M. at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will immediately follow at Hoover Bulla Cemetery. Pastor Tim Branson will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday (March 20, 2018) from 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Eugene's name to Liberty Acres United Rescue Animal Sanctuary 3546 East Mitchell Rd. Liberty, Indiana 47353.
