Farron Van Winkle, age 65, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at his home. Born November 5, 1960, in Richmond, Indiana, to Earl and Sophia Abrams Van Winkle, Farron was a life-long resident of Wayne County. Farron worked for Scott Door Service, Inc. for over thirty years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Farron could always find the humor in a situation and could make anyone laugh.

Survivors include his son, Zachary Van Winkle of Louisville, Kentucky, son Cody Van Winkle of Richmond, Indiana, and daughter Lindsey Van Winkle of Los Angeles, California; sisters, Marsha Anderson of New Paris, Ohio, and Beverly Mauller of Hagerstown, Indiana; brother Lanny Van Winkle of Liberty, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Riggle- Waltermann Mortuary, 32 South 11th Street, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Richmond.
