Floyd Nelson Redd, age 73, of Williamsburg, died Thursday (February 26, 2004) at the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on May 17, 1930 to John Everett Redd and Lora L. Logue Redd Moore and had lived in the Richmond area most of his life where he spent his formative years at Wernle Home. Floyd retired from Chippewa Motor Freight and had also driven trucks for S & S Auto Service, Warfield Oil Company and while he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church, the American Legion and he had served as an assistant Boy Scout leader.

The apples of his eyes were his 13 grandchildren: Duane, Scott, Amy, Amanda, Melissa, Marsha, Brian, Justin, Cristina, Kristy, Bob, Sarah and Luke Nelson. And he dearly loved his 17 great grandchildren: Miranda, Ashli, Faith, Bryan, Brandy, Caleb, Devon, Cody, Dominic, Amanda, Jacob, Kylene, Brittany, Oksana, Zoe, Karley and Dean Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Everett N. Redd, and two half-brothers.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday (March 1, 2004) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor John Place will officiate. Burial will be in Williamsburg Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday (February 29, 2004) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wernle Home, 2000 Wernle Road, Richmond, Indiana 47374.
