Freda S. Carey, age 86, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday (April 9th, 2014) after a brief bout with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Liberty, Indiana on November 1st, 1927 to Leonard & Susie Skinner and had lived in this area all her life. Freda was an avid bingo player, who enjoyed watching NASCAR and football. She had worked in the kitchen at the Lamppost and area 9. Survivors include her sisters Reba (Bill) Null and Ethel Adams; brother Carl (Ethel) Skinner; many nieces and nephews, as well as her church family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard Carey. A brother Harold Skinner is also deceased. Services for Freda will be held on Monday (April 14, 2014 at 1 p.m. in Riggle-Waltermann mortuary. Pastor Jim Spon will officiate. Burial will follow in Richland Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (April 14, 2014) from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
