Gary "Jack" Shepard, 74, passed away on Thursday April 2, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 24, 1951 in Connersville, Indiana; son of Clarence Shepard and Airy Elizabeth (Shocklee) Johnson. Jack was, first and foremost, a fantastic father and husband. His favorite part of life was adventuring with his wife and daughter. Jack owned his own salon, HEAD'S UP, for most of his career while enjoying hiking, camping, and playing games with his grandkids as he aged. He was also an outstanding cook and candy maker and loved making people laugh. He will be missed dearly as he was loved immensely by those who knew him as he filled our lives with joyful memories.

Jack is survived by the love of his life, wife of 48 years, Becky, and his only daughter, Cortney (Daniel) Palencia. 4 grandchildren; Michael, Scarlett, Brookelyn and Giuliana. 3 sisters; May (Scott) O'Maley, Jane (Neal) Woolwine and Billie (Bennie) Perry; along with many other relatives. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters; Sue Smith, Kay Kannianen, Donna (Gary) Seniour, Carol (the late Randy) Smith and a brother Bobby (Pauline) Shepard.

Father Sengole Gnanaraj will officiate a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary, with a memorial visitation prior to the service from 11am–1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lutherania Cemetery.
