Gene Gross, age 68, of Richmond, died Sunday (January 13, 2008) at his residence.� He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 9, 1939 to Charles and Effie Bell Starnes Gross and had lived in this area most of his life.� He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and was a retired employee of the Richmond Sanitation Department.� He was a member of American Legion Post 315.� �Survivors include his wife if 26 years - Barbara Porter Gross; children - Tim Gross of Williamsburg, Indiana; Lori Rose of Camden, Ohio and Lisa Byrd of Oxford, Ohio;� brothers - Jimmy Gross of Bath, Indiana, Donald Gross of West College Corner, Indiana, Phillip Gross of West College Corner, Indiana;� sisters - Mabel� Bailey of Richmond, Lena Bertsch of Eaton, Ohio, Ruthanne VanWinkle of Connersville, Mary Lou Pace of Richmond, Jenny Blackmore of Lebanon, Ohio;� 5 grandchildren;� 3 great grandchildren;� step-children Diane Doty of Ohio, Dave Doty of West College Corner, Indiana and Pamela Ashbrook of Dayton, Ohio;� nieces and nephews�In addition to his parents, a twin brother, Jerald "Jerry" Gross and a brother, Charles William Gross, are also deceased.�
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday (January 18, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� Rev. Zary Shealy will officiate.� Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery where graveside military services will be conducted by the Wayne County Veterans Honor Guard.��� Friends may call on Friday (January 18, 2008) from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home�
