Obituary

George M. Schroeder, age 95, formerly of Richmond, died Tuesday (January 23, 2007) at the Brethren Home in Greenville, Ohio.� He was born in Wayne County, Indiana on September 23, 1911 to Frank and Flora Ahaus Schroeder and had lived in Richmond most of his life before moving to Hollansburg, Ohio in 1968.� He was a US Army veteran of World War II and had worked most of his life as a carpenter.� George was a member of Saint Andrew Church (Richmond) and the Greenville Senior Center.� He was a former member of the YMI and enjoyed gardening and playing cards with friends at the senior center.� He was known for his talent in making candy.



Survivors include sisters Elizabeth Heaton of Richmond, Pauline Brown of Richmond, Anna Brinker of Richmond; brother Charles "Jack" Schroeder of Richmond, nieces and nephews.� He also leaves special friends Mary Wentworth and Keith Weimer.



Three brothers, Joseph, Dick, Herman and Frank Schroeder and two sisters, Cleopha Schroeder and Catherine Schroeder are also deceased..



A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday (January 27, 2007) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Andrew Church.� Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery.� Friends may call on Friday (January 26, 2007) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.� Memorial contributions may be made to the Seton High School Gymnasium Fund % 240 South 6th St. Richmond, Indiana� 47374.� www.riggle-waltermann.com
