George William Weilandich, age 84, of Richmond, died Wednesday morning (April 17, 2013) at Ambassador Healthcare in Centerville, Indiana. He was born in St Louis, Missouri on April 2, 1929 to John and Mary Hajos Weilandich. A graduate of McKinley High School, he served in the US Army Quartermaster Unit in Korea from 1951 - 1953, and continued as a member of the Army Reserve until 1956.  A machinist at Wagner Electric for over 30 years, he then moved to Richmond, Indiana in 1988 to be  near his grandchildren. He worked at H & S Machine Shop in New Paris, OH until he retired in 1999.  George was an active member of the YMI for 24 years, having served as president and in various other positions. He was also a member of St Mary Catholic Church Survivors include his daughter, Dwan (Henry) Doherty of Richmond; grandchildren Christopher, Kathleen, Patrick, and Maureen Doherty, and Salvino Vincent; a sister, Mary Wilde of Kansas; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children: George R Weilandich, Jon Weilandich, and Kara Weilandich; five brothers and two sisters. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at 11:00 am on on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin Morris officiating. Burial will be in St Mary Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Visitation for George W.
