Gerald L. "Jerry" Baumer, age 76, of Richmond, died Saturday evening (November 10, 2018) at the Dayton VA Hospice. He was born in Richmond on August 12, 1942 to Robert E. and Helen Austerman Baumer and had lived here all of his life. He was a 1960 graduate of Richmond High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Jerry worked at the former Remsco right out of high school and retired as owner/operator of Jerry Baumer Distributing, an automotive parts distributor. He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. Andrew) and of the Whitewater Valley Corvette Club. Jerry was a friendly, happy, fun loving guy who always had a joke to share with others
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Gennie Rose Baumer; daughters Angelina (John) Monahan and Regina (Ryan) Kimmel; grandchildren Justin Sweet, Blake Kimmel, Sophia Kimmel, Jack Monahan and Leah Monahan.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday (November 15, 2018) in Saint Andrew Church. Father Kevin Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Andrew Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard Friends may call on Wednesday (November 14, 2018) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
