Obituary

Gladys Ellen Gill, age 88, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (May 27, 2008) at Reid Hospital.� She was born in Gilmer County, West Virginia on September 14, 1919 to Floyd Byrdl and Maxie Burwell Reynolds and had lived in Richmond since 1954.� She was a graduate of Glenville State College and had taught biology in Clay County, West Virginia.� She was employed by the Department of the Navy during World War II and had worked as a stewardess for Eastern Airlines.� She was a member of Central United Methodist Church.� Gladys was an artist and enjoyed ceramics and she loved nature and gardening.� Her husband, William A. Gill, Jr. died on October 14, 1986.�Survivors include her sons William Gill of Richmond, Stephen Gill of Winston-Salem, NC, David Gill of Indianapolis and Jonathan Gill of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter - Christine Carol Latimer.�A sister, Goldie Reynolds Reger is also deceased.�Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday (May 30, 2008) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.� Rev. Scott Bell will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday (May 29, 2008) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.� Committal and entombment services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday (May 31, 2008) in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Clarksburg, West Virginia where friends may call one hour prior to the service.� Memorial contributions may be made to Sunshine House, 403 South 12th Street, Richmond, IN 47374.� www.riggle-waltermann.com
