Glen R. Barnett, age 80, of Richmond, died Friday morning (September 16, 2011) at his residence. He was born in Rushville, Indiana on April 17, 1931 to Frank and Roma Guthrie Barnett and had lived here most of his life. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of VFW Post 1108. His wife, Peggy Barnett, died in 2002. Survivors include his children - Tincey Wright of Richmond, Lindy Covalt of Richmond, Terry (Tina) Lodge of Richmond, John Spencer of Seymour, Indiana, three additional children including his daughter Kathy; brother - Terry Barnett of Rushville; sister - Barbara Snyder of Arizona; grandchildren including - Douglas Wright II, Brandon Alan Wright, Brittany Lodge, Danielle Lodge, Tabitha Evans, Amber Smith, Cherilyn Spencer, John Spencer, Jr, Tammy Spencer; great grandchildren including Hayley Renee Wright, Rayleigh Bresher, Kendyl Smith, Autumn Fraley, Savannah Spencer, Alexandria Neal, Liberty Neal, Isaac Spencer; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, two children, Jeff and Becky, brother Frank Barnett, and sister Patty Herbert, are also deceased. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday (September 19, 2011) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Friends may call on Monday (September 19, 2011) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
