Golden Jewel Gray Philpot passed away on April 5, 2012. Golden, better known as Goldie, was born to William and Nancy Ann Thacker Gray on August 7, 1939 in Lilly, Kentucky. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, John Philpot in 1977, a son David Michael in 1966, brothers William Gray Jr., in 1950 and Tilmon Gray in 2011. John and Goldie had three other children: Johnny of New Paris, Ohio, Anna (Lloyd) Ritchie of Richmond and Charles Ray (Jennifer) of Richmond. They also had 7 grandchildren: Amanda, Luke, Skylar, Mackenzie, Madison, Peyton and Noah. Goldie was employed by the Coin-A-Matic Laundry for 44 years. Goldie is also survived by brothers Gene Gray, Guy Gray and Don Gray; sisters Odenia Hinkle and Peggy Williams; nieces, nephews and many special friends. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday (April 10, 2012) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Ralph Holdeman will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (April 9, 2012) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one prior to the service at the funeral home.
