Gus Benford (Bennie) Green, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2023 at Forest Park Health Campus with his family at his side.

He was born in Waynesburg, Kentucky on February 2, 1938 to Gus Green and Nellie (Camden) Green. He graduated from Boston High School, Boston, Indiana with the class of 1958. On May 26, 1962 he married Carolyn (Witte) Green. He was employed at Wayne Corporation for 35+ years where he was one of the founders of the Wayne Employees Credit Union. He was active in VAW Local 721 and a member of the CAP Counsel. He was an active member of the Wayne County Coon Hunters Association where he was the treasurer and organized the Autumn Oaks yearly event.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 61 years and their children Kevin (Brian Roeber) Green (Chicago, Illinois), Debbie Green (Richmond, Indiana), Timothy (Kelly) Green (New Paris, Ohio), Todd Green (Tucson, Arizona) and Brian Green (Richmond, Indiana); 5 grandchildren Megean Gallagher (Brad) Lundberg (Chicago, Illinois), Madison, Jerah and Lyla Green (New Paris, Ohio) and Evan (Leslie) Catron; 4 great-grandchildren Blair and Wyatt Lundberg and Owen and Everlee Catron. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeffrey, sisters Bettie Hutchings and Ruth Wilkinson and brothers Donald Green and James Green.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 29, 2023 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Father Nick Pagano will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday December 29, 2023, prior to mass, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary (32 South 11th St. Richmond).
