Harold S. Rothermel, age 96, of Richmond died Wednesday evening (August 4, 2010) at Reid Hospital. He was born in Whitewater, Indiana on August 11, 1913 to George and Mary Rothermel and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Whitewater High School and was a US Army veteran of World War II. Harold was a retired 30 year employee of Belden and was a member of the Belden 25 Year Club. He was an active member of the former IOOF Lodge and was a member and past president of the Richmond Optimist Club. He was also an active participant with the Richmond Conservation Club and was a 65 year member of the American Legion Post 65. His wife of 70 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Rothermel, died on October 13, 2008. Survivors include his daughters - Cheryl Rothermel of Richmond; Linda (Jack) Bousquet of Santa Clarita, California; grandchildren - Geoff Bousquet, Ashley Frank and Andrew Bousquet; great granddaughter - Layla Bousquet; niece - Mary Caldwell. A brother, Robert Rothermel, and a niece are also deceased. Services will be held on at 11:00 am on Monday (August 9, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. John Hollis will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (August 9, 2010) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
