Henry Andrew Parker, age 90, died Monday morning (December 29, 2008) at Golden Living Center - Golden Rule Nursing Facility. He was born February 4, 1918 in New Albany, Indiana to Roscoe and Bertha Parker. He graduated from Milton High School in 1936. He was a member of the Milton Sharpshooters during his high school years and he was a participant in the Avid Industrial Baseball League during the 1940's. He retired in 1980 from Wayne Works, as Superintendent of Fabrication, after 39 years of loyal service. Henry was a member of First Christian Church. He was a former member of the Optimist Club and was active in the Little League Baseball program in his early retirement years. He was also an active member of the Wayne Works 25 Year Club and enjoyed attending their annual luncheons. Survivors include his son -Steven Parker of Bloomington, Indiana; his sister - Mary Jane Hunt of Richmond; granddaughter - Sara Armstrong; grandsons - Bryan O'Day, Patrick Parker and Travis Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 57 years Charlotte Parker (November 25, 1997); his daughter - Jane O'Day (September 21, 2008); his brother - Edward Parker (1995); his half-brother - John Kirkman (1987) Services will be held on Friday (January 2, 2008) at 2:00 pm in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Friday (January 2, 2008) from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
