Obituary

Jack A. "Jad" Daggy, Jr., age 52, formerly of Richmond, died Friday evening (November 16, 2007) at his residence in Fishers, Indiana.� He fought cancer for over 2 years.� It was a long hard road, but he was brave and never gave up hope.� He was born in Richmond in 1955 to Jack and Ruth Close Daggy.� Jad belonged to Boy Scouts and played football at Boston Junior High School.� He graduated from Richmond High School in 1973 where he played drums in the marching band.� He was an Assistant Scout Master, a certified EMT, and a member of the Boston Volunteer Fire Department which he enjoyed immensely.� He built one of his own homes, did his own electrical, plumbing, landscaping and remodeling of several other homes.� He was part owner of Jack Daggy Flowers in Richmond where he worked for 15 years.� In his years at the flower shop he was an avid supporter of the Richmond Rose Festival and contributed many hours helping design floats, bouquets and arrangements.� He operated his own lawn service for several years and spread his creative talents throughout the community.� He also worked as a designer for Eastside Florist in Franklin, North Carolina.� Most recently he was a Landscape Supervisor of Landscape Specialties in Beech Grove.� His backyard is like a magazine cover with a bridge at the back door that crosses a fish pond which flows across the patio.�
He is survived by his wife of 31 years - Darlene Mozzer Daggy;� son - Mike (Sara) Daggy;� daughters - Jamie (Sean) Abrams,� Katie Daggy and granddaughter Addison Abrams all of the Indianapolis area;� his mother - Ruth Daggy;� sisters - Sherry (Brian Belbin) McClain and Kathy (Tom) Brunner;� brother - Jim (Kim) Daggy all of Richmond;� nieces and nephews� - Emily McClain, Andrew (Kristin) McClain, Justin Daggy, Jessica Daggy, Kasie Brunner, Shelbianne Brunner, Amy (Duane) White;� great nieces and nephews - Noah McClain, Rylee McClain, Taylor White, Kaiden White and Logan White.�
His father, Jack Daggy, Sr., died August 24, 2004.�
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday (November 21, 2007) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary in Richmond.� Rev. Mark Wesler will officiate.� Friends may call on Monday (November 19, 2007) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Shirley Brothers Fishes-Castleton Chapel, 9900 N. Allisonville Road, Indianapolis or on Tuesday (November 20, 2007) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary, 32 South 11th St., Richmond.� Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery in Richmond.� Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 689, Columbus, Indiana� 47202.
