Obituary

James Frederick "Jim" Nolley, age 64, of Richmond, died Thursday (September 1, 2005) at Heritage House of Richmond after an extended illness with cancer. He was born in Washington, Indiana on March 11, 1941 to James Franklin and Bonnie M. Herndon Nolley and was a 1959 graduate of Alfordsville High School. Being raised on a farm created his love for the outdoors. He was a construction and utility worker most of his life. He worked for John H. Kreitz, Inc. (Washington, Indiana) in construction and then worked for 35 years for the Rural Electric Membership Corp. working with the Davies-Martin County REMC, the Wayne County and Whitewater Valley REMC. He was a lineman for 20 years with the Davies-Martin and Wayne County REMC and then served as Line Superintendent for the Wayne County REMC for 12 years. After Wayne County, Fayette County and Union County REMCs merged to form Whitewater Valley REMC, he served as Director of Operations retiring in 1996. After retirement, he worked part-time as a carpenter doing remodeling and building. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and pursuing his hobbies of hunting, fishing and woodworking. He enjoyed sports and was an avid NASCAR race fan. He was a member of Holy Family Church and a past member of the Druids and Moose Lodges.

Daughters - Denise Lynn (Richard) Osborne of Centerville

Step-children - Valerie Ann (Anthony) Arnold of Centerville

Sisters - Cheryl Ann (Ted) Morgan of Jasper, Indiana

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday (September 3, 2005) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (September 2, 2005) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
