James Allen Williams, 76, of Richmond, was born on January 20, 1947 to Paul and Alice (Bowlan) Williams. James was born and raised in Centerville, Indiana where he graduated from Centerville High School in 1965. It was there he met the love of his life, Mary Toschlog, whom he married on July 26, 1969. After high school James was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, James was a probationary firefighter for the Richmond Fire Department. He worked for Dana Corporation for 19 1/2 years on the research and development team, and his name, as part of the team, is on several car-related patents. He then spent the rest of his career as a maintenance engineer.

James is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to honor his memory his wife, Mary, sister, Judi Burnell (Wilmington, OH), children Rett Williams (Centerville) and Amanda (Kevin) Weaver (Richmond), grandchildren Juliana, Nikohlas, and Kenleigh, and many nieces and nephews.

Deacon Jim Miller will officiate services for James at 1pm on Saturday December 30, 2023, at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
