Jan L. Deer, age 62, passed away on Monday (April 10th 2017) at her residence with family by her side. She was born on September 25th 1954 to B P "Red" & Stella Davis in Richmond and had lived here all her life. She had worked at Reid for 25 years as an administrative assistant, working closely with the residents. Jan was very active with both Reid Bravo & Relay For Life during her battle with cancer the last 2 years. Reid received $13000 this past weekend at a Reid Bravo event in her name. She also volunteered with other organizations in the community. She enjoyed time with her family, particularly her daughter Roxie with whom she did so much; her dogs Mischa & Hudson; and her friends. Jan was a life member of Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter Roxie Deer; best friends Taunya (Mike) Fallon; The Schafir, Brookes', Riesen, and Livesay families; her sister-in-law, Betty, many, many, special friends; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Pamela "Jeanie" Davis and brother James Leach.

Services for Jan will be held on Saturday (April 15th 2017) at 1 p.m. in Central United Methodist Church (1425 E. Main St. Richmond, IN 47374) Pastors Tom Ream & David Hogg will officiate. Burial will follow in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday (April 14th 2017) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary (32 South 11th St. Richmond, IN 47374) In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Jan's name to Reid Bravo (1100 Reid Parkway Richmond, IN 47374).
