Janet Geneva Quinter passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 4, 2025. Janet was born on January 14, 1931, in Richmond, Indiana to William and Ilda Schneider. Janet graduated from Richmond Highschool in 1949, she then married the love of her life, Elmer, in 1950. They had three children, Terri, Ann & David Quinter. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, fishing, and many special camping trips. She formerly worked at The Big Cheese and Reedmore Books in Richmond. A special thank you to the staff at Forest Park for all the care and compassion they gave to Janet.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Terri Quinter and David Quinter; siblings George (Judy) Toschlog and Paula (Joe) Kish; granddaughter Crystal Short; several nieces and nephews; friends of the family Trish and Bobby Barnard.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer and daughter Ann Rose Quinter-Short.
Liturgy of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday March 11, 2025, at Saint Andrew Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Giannini officiating. Visitation will take place from 11am-12pm on Tuesday March 11, 2025 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will follow at a later date in St. Andrew Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Janet's name to Sisters of Saint Francis Oldenburg or Seton Ann Catholic School.
