Janice M. Smith, age 74, of Richmond, died Thursday afternoon (January 7, 2010) at her residence. She was born in Richmond on January 7, 1936 to William and Beulah Seekings Benn and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a graduate of Centerville High School and was a retired employee of Richmond Community Schools. Janice was 50 year member of First Christian Church and a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority. She had been an active volunteer and past president of the Parent Teachers Association. Survivors include her husband of 55 years - Richard Smith; children - Rachelle (Randy) Huston of Parker, Colorado, Richard (Becky) Smith of Richmond, Susan Wardlow of Muncie, Sara Kahle of Richmond and Scott (Marica) Smith of Richmond; 12 grandchildren - Dana Fahising, Megan Smith, Zachary Smith, Lena Smith, Sean Wardlow, Sawyer Wardlow, Aaron Kahle, Austin Kahle, Alexis Kahle, Joshua Smith, Emily Smith, Katherine Huston. Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday (January 10, 2010) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday (January 10, 2010) at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Earlham Cemetery. www.riggle-waltermann.com
