Janice Swafford, age 88, of Richmond, died Wednesday evening (May 13, 2015) at Rosebud Village. She was born in Connersville, Indiana on May 10, 1927 to Russell and Ruby Bishop Crouse and had lived here most of her life. She had worked for the former Heritage Books and Gifts and was a member of First Christian Church. Janice was an independent lady who loved to read and cook. Her husband, Donald Swafford, died on April 2, 2005. Survivors include her daughter Pam (husband B.J.) Bryant of Richmond; grandchildren Jason (wife Samantha) Bryant of Richmond and Kim (husband Eric) Schroeder of Richmond; great granddaughter Shelby Bryant. In addition to her parents, a twin sister, June Fries, is also deceased. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (May 20, 2015) in Riggle -Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Amanda Hines will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday (May 20, 2015) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
