Jean Stevens, age 79, formerly of Richmond, died Thursday (November 28, 2013) in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born in Richmond on December 5, 1933 to Guthrie Sr. and Zolene Kirtz Stevens and was raised by her mother and by her step-father, Clarence Dorsey. She had lived in Richmond all of her life before moving to Bloomington, Indiana in 2009. Jean was a lady of strong faith and lived her life in accordance with Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Todd Stevens of Bloomington, Indiana; 2 grandchildren, including Elliot Todd Stevens; former daughter-in-law, Rachelle Stevens; aunt and uncle, Thelma and William O. Ross; 2 great grandchildren and cousins. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday (December 4, 2013) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Paul Mingus will officiate.
