Jeffrey S. Meinsen, age 57, passed away on Wednesday (January 11th 2017) at his residence in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on August 26th 1959 to William & Lavonne Meinsen in Richmond. He had spent over 16 years in the U.S. Army, and retired as a Sergeant First Class, E7, drill sergeant. During his time in the military, he was an armor crewman, a tank mechanic, and one of the top operators of the M1 tank. Jeff was an avid NASCAR fan who rooted for Dale Earnhardt Sr., and later cheered on Dale Jr. Anyone who knew Jeff would agree, he was a hardworking, sweat pouring, good hearted man that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Survivors include his children Jennifer (Troy Cantrell) Meinsen, Justin (Chelsea) Meinsen, Josh (Courtney Moore) Meinsen; brothers Mike Meinsen, David (Tammy) Meinsen, Gayle (Jennifer) Meinsen, Todd (Karen) Meinsen; grandchildren Kelsey, Courtney, Kara, Conner, Delanee, Gage, Chloe, and Jaxon; special friend Danny (Becky) Sparks; nieces, nephews, and several friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Christine Meinsen.
Services for Jeff will be held on Tuesday (January 17th 2016) at 1 p.m. in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Pastor Brett Karanovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Lutherania Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday (January 16th 2017) from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
