Jerry Lee Radford, age 82, left this earth peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his home. He was born in Richmond on December 24, 1942, to Howard "Bus" and Lydia Radford, and had lived in Williamsburg all his life. Jerry spent his childhood helping his dad around the family farm, and knew he wanted to become a farmer himself. He graduated from Williamsburg High School, where he was active in FFA and showing cattle. He was deeply involved in agriculture and was a respected figure in the local farming community, later buying his own farm and building Radford Hog Farms with his son J.D. - a venture that became both a family legacy and a source of pride.
Survivors include his daughter, Gina Radford (John) Charles; stepdaughter, Kim (Bob) Forrester; grandsons, William (Parker-Paige) Charles, Jack (Madeline) Charles, and Josh (Brooke) Forrester; granddaughter, Jordyn Forrester; great-grandchildren, Declan Forrester, Bexlee Forrester, and Jerilee Forrester; In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Sue Ann Radford; his son, Jerry "J.D." Radford; and sister Marilyn "Joan" Turner.
A memorial service for Jerry will be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at Riggle Waltermann Mortuary with pastor David Young officiating. Internment will follow in Earlham Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 11am-1pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Jerry's family requests that memorial gifts be made to the J.D. Radford Scholarship Fund in care of the Wayne County Foundation in support of a scholarship program established to support Northeastern students who are continuing their education in the field of agriculture or veterinary science.
