Joan Markey, age 76, of Richmond, died Thursday (March 25, 2004) at Reid Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1928 in New Paris, Ohio to Ross and Agnes Kuth Markey and had lived in this area all of her life. She was a graduate of Richmond High School and was a retired employee of Purina Mills where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a member of Saint Mary Church.

A sister, Martha Markey, and three brothers, Pierce, Cleatus and Jonas Markey, are also deceased.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday (March 29, 2004) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. Friends may call on Monday (March 29, 2004) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
