John A. Abell, age 70, of Richmond, died Tuesday morning (December 12, 2017) at Reid Health. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 17, 1947 to Edward and Elizabeth Geoghan Abell and had lived in Richmond since the early 1970's. John was the owner/operator of the former John's Warehouse Foods and retired as the owner/operator of Hartman's Market. He was an active member of the former Richmond Jaycees and was a friendly and fun-loving individual.

Survivors include his children Brittney Abell, Austin Abell and Lisa Abell; siblings Evy (Gordon) McKemie, Jane Wilson, Sally (Dennis) Tyler, Beth Beckham, Mary (Ed) Chandler, Richard (Paula) Abell and Clifford (Betty) Abell; grandchildren Meghan, Ian, Maverick and Ethan; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a daughter, Laura Abell, and a brother, Rocky Abell, are also deceased.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday (December 16, 2017) in Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
