Obituary

John C. Hackman, age 61, of Richmond, died Saturday evening (August 5, 2006) at his residence following a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Richmond on January 24, 1945 to William and Elizabeth Guerin Hackman and had lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and a veteran of the US Army. He had worked at NATCO and was a 26 year employee of Dana Corporation. He was currently employed at Metaldyne in New Castle.John was a member of the Dana 25 Year Club and a member of First English Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Karen Hackman; Sons Theodore "Ted" Hackman of Richmond, Peter Hackman of Muncie, Brian Clevenger of Muncie; Sisters Janet (Mark) Phillips of Richmond Jean Hackman of Denver, Colorado; Brothers-in-law Terry (Fran) VanNatta of Sparks, Nevada, Tim VanNatta of Richmond; Two aunts and an uncle and very special nieces, nephews and cousins Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday (August 10, 2006) in First English Lutheran Church (2727 East Main Street). Pastor John Walker and Pastor Brian Derrer will officiate. Burial will be in Lutherania Cemetery Friends may call on Wednesday (August 9, 2006) from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary.
