John E. "Red" Holloway, age 88, of Richmond, died Thursday (January 6, 2011) at his residence. He was born in North Carolina on October 1, 1922 to John H. and Florence Royal Holloway. He was a retired car salesman and had worked for the former Kurdy's Chevrolet and Allen Chevrolet dealerships. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Betty Holloway; children: Dwight Holloway, Kathy S. Hopkins, Linda K. Oddo; grandchildren: Nathaniel Holloway, Jason Latou, Chantelle Holloway, Lynda Hopkins, Tommy Hopkins, Aleksander Oddo; great grandchild: Ricky Hopkins; sister: Edna Schwegman; special friend: Sally A. Holloway. Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday (January 11, 2011) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Rev. Phillip Hodgkin will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday (January 11, 2011) from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
