Joseph C. Brim, age 84, of Richmond, died Saturday evening (March 9, 2013) at Ambassador Healthcare. He was born in Garrard County, Kentucky on November 5, 1928 to Robert H. and Nancy Ann Benge Brim and had lived in this area most of his life. Joe had worked for Richmond Auto Electric for over twenty years and then operated Joe Brim's Garage until his retirement. He had served as a Special Deputy for the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and was an active member of the Wayne County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol for 31 years where he also served as president. He was a charter member, past president and past secretary/treasurer of the Knights of Saint John. He had served as a 4-H leader, taught vocational night school and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the YMI. He was also a member and past president of the Diamond L Saddle Club and had been a Golden Gloves boxer. Joe was honored as a Kentucky Colonel. His wife of 67 years, C. Fayetta Brim, died January 14, 2013. Survivors include his sons, Curtis (Vicki) Brim of Richmond, Phil (Debi) Brim of Indianapolis; daughters, Vickie (Bill) Blanford of Graham, North Carolina, Connie (Carl) Siders of Richmond; sister, Libby Shook of Richmond; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings John Parr, Irvin Parr, William Parr, Lettie Parr, Sue Anna Graham, Charles Parr, Mary Francis Brim, Mack Brim, Samuel Brim, Minnie Brim, Robert Brim and a special nephew, Robert "Bobby" Brim. Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday (March 14, 2013) in Riggle - Waltermann Mortuary. Duane Brim will officiate. Burial will be in Boston Cemetery.
