Joseph Anthony Pardo, age 87, of Richmond, died Saturday afternoon (May 16, 2009) at Pinehurst Village. He was born in Richmond on October 17, 1921 to Andrew and Lucy Armenia Pardo and had lived here all of his life. He was a 1940 graduate of Richmond High School and was a US Army veteran of World War II. He retired in 1983 from the former Wayne Works and had owned and operated his own lawn mower repair business. Joe had been an avid golfer and had won numerous tournaments and events. He was a member of Saint Mary Church. Survivors include his wife of 62 � years Ruth Pardo; sons - John Pardo of Centerville, Andy Pardo of Richmond, Mike (Anita) Pardo of Lagrange, Indiana; two sisters - Sister Mary Joannes of Oldenburg, Indiana and Frances of Arizona; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday (May 19, 2009) in Saint Mary Church. Burial will be in Saint Mary Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday (May 19, 2009) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth Pardo Care Fund in care of the funeral home.
