Joyce E. Miller, age 90, of Richmond died July 16, 2023 at Reid Health. She was born February 13, 1933, to Walker Blain Hickman and Cuba Lavonne Brooks Hickman. She was in the RHS Class of 1950 and lived in Richmond most of her life. She worked at several places in Richmond including Second National Bank and Wayne Dairy. She was married to Roger Charles Miller for 67 years.

Joyce was a very long-time member of First Christian Church going back to the old church that had curved pews. She was a 50-year member of The Order of Eastern Star, Loyal Chapter 49, having received her 50-year pin. She was also a Charter Member of Rainbow Girls.

Joyce loved to see little babies and liked to talk to most anyone around. She loved animals and had a dog or cat most of her life. She liked to watch NASCAR and horse racing. It would upset her if a jockey would whip a horse. She also liked to watch the older reruns of Western movies on TV.
Survivors include her daughter, Dianna Lyn Miller and grandson Christopher Charles Miller. Also nephews Terry Lee Banning of Alford, Florida and Randal Lance Barnes of Pharr, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Charles Miller; her parents and sisters Norma Davis and Barbara "Dolly" Bounous.

Graveside services will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Richmond on Thursday July 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Pastor Cindy Ploughe will officiate. Services will be conducted by The Order of Eastern Star, Loyal Chapter 49. Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary is handling arrangements.
